Contemporary combines the technique multiple styles of dance with ballet and modern being the foundation. Creative expression and improvisation are utilized in choreography. Classes begin with a warm-up, strength and conditioning, across the floor, and end with a combination. 

Musical Theater combines dancing with the art of acting. The skills learned in Musical Theater are applicable to all other genres of dance as well, helping teach the dancers how to combine their own personality with each given movement.

Ballet

All classes begin with barre and finish with center combinations. Ballet is the foundation for all   types of dance and is highly recommended for becoming a well trained dancer with strong   technique. Students will learn the foundations of ballet alignment, basic positions, carriage of the   arms and class etiquette. Dancers learn about articulation of the feet and ankles, rotation of the   hips (or “turn out”), skips, jumps and turns. As they progress, students explore more challenging   barre exercises, turns, leaps, slow balances (adagio exercises), and complex combinations.

Tap enables the dancer to create percussive sound with their feet. Classes begin with barre and ends with center combinations. Tap teaches the student rhythm, syncopation, and develops the students  “ear”, much like a musician. Beginner students start with an introduction to basic tap steps, sounds, and techniques through call and response as well as repetition.

Musical Theater

Hip Hop is derived from street dance. This style requires high energy and attention to detail. Students will learn complex rhythms and syncopation and will build stamina, strength, endurance, flexibility and stamina.

These classes teach syncopation in movement. Movements can be sharp and staccato or lyrical. Class starts with a warm-up, then moves to practice combinations for technique across the floor, and ends with a combination of dance. Jazz has a wide range of styles and interpretations. Jazz is   a structured class that teaches the discipline of dance and a strong technique. Jazz classes are   high energy, upbeat and fun!

Acro

Lyrical dance is a combination of ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary styles and interpret lyrics through movement.  Classes are typically 1 hour in   duration. Ballet is the foundation for all types of dance and is highly recommended for becoming a well trained dancer with strong technique.
